The project is anticipated to be completed by September 2021.

Eric Burton, CEO of Factor 5 Group, gave a presentation and answered questions about CED.

Affordable Housing, what is the Strategy?

Jada Basi, of City Spaces, presented and answered questions about the Housing Needs Assessment and the Affordable Housing Strategy.

Phil Armstrong, Town of Golden and Gerald Christie, CSRD, Development Services Managers/Planners were also both available to answer questions of community members.

Sustainable Growth, how can we do it?

Bob Sandford, long-term resident of Canmore and author of the Weekender Effect, and a whole host of other publications, presented his views and experience on Sustainable Growth and answered questions.

Danya Rumore, of the Gateway and Natural Amenity Region (GNAR) Initiative, presented key findings of research on planning and development challenges in gateway and natural amenity communities across the West. She engaged participants in dialogue about what the findings mean locally and explored potential strategies for protecting the things that make the Golden Area such a great place to live and visit.

Climate Action, what can we do?

Ingrid Liepa, pioneer of Climate Action initiatives in the Columbia Basin, presented on Climate Equality.

Montana Burgess, of West Kootenay EcoSociety, presented the 100% Renewable Kootenays campaign.

Meredith Hamstead, of Think Bright Homes, presented environmental innovations used in sustainable building.

All three presenters were available to answer questions.
