Golden Community Resources Society, Executive Director
Connie’s commitment to contribute to the development and maintenance of a good quality of life for all Golden citizens has provided her with broad experience in the non profit sector and community service positions. Connie has enhanced her governance skills and leadership experience from both sides of a board table since 1979.
She is currently the Executive Director of Golden Community Resources Society, an umbrella non profit organization, administering and managing a diverse collection of successful and respected programs including early learning, licensed child care, family support, employment and training, victim services, youth services, seniors programs, seniors housing and interesting one-off community projects.
Connie’s community service and Board experience includes Town Council, Golden Community Coop, Columbia Valley Credit union, School Trustee SD #6, Women’s Centre, Arts Council, Chamber of Commerce as well as CBT social sector steering and adjudication committees.
Golden Family Center Society, Executive Director
Helena Oosthoek is a native of the Netherlands and immigrated to Canada as a young adult. Helena holds an honours bachelor’s degree in Social Work as well as a master’s degree in Literature. She has worked in the Social Work and Counselling field for over 20 years, both in Ontario and in BC. Helena has lived in Golden since 2001 and in 2008 she joined the Golden Family Center in the family support program. In 2010 she took over as the Golden Family Center’s executive director.
Golden Women’s Resource Centre Society, Executive Director & Outreach
Linley McLean has an honours bachelor’s degree in International Development and Environmental Studies from McGill University and moved from Quebec to Golden in 2006 to ski for a season… and hasn’t looked back. Linley became the Executive Director at the Golden Women’s Resource Centre (GWRC) in 2009 with a diverse background in program development and delivery, office management, event coordination and stakeholder involvement both overseas and in Canada. The GWRC’s mission, vision, and culture have been a perfect fit for Linley as the organization continues to provide important supports and services to women and girls in our community and surrounding area.
Golden Food Bank, Manager
Judith moved to Golden from Spain in 2015 to enjoy the lifestyle of a small town. She studied a Non Profit Management Master’s Degree in Madrid and always has been passionate about community work. Judith has experience working and volunteering in diverse social organizations in Europe, South America and Canada. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, cooking and hiking
Scott is a business owner and active community member. He helped to launch two regional Community Investment Co-op’s, has run a number of his own businesses and enjoys volunteering his time to help make Golden an inclusive and great place to live.
